We've loved having Chloe Mattei with us this week to draw attention to the Fashion Revolution happening right now. To find out more, we asked Chloe to explain what it's all about. Fashion Revolution Day started when on 24th April 2013 thousands of people were killed and over two thousand were injured when the Rana Plaza sweatshop collapsed. It was quoted ‘the worst ever industrial disaster in the fashion and textile industry’. More and more workers are experiencing the same struggles every day because of the growth in producing cheap clothing. Wish you were here...

The wishing tree strikes again! Did you see our wishing tree on its latest adventure? Visitors to Tooting Library during the Easter holidays added their wishes to the tree - to make the world a better place. Heather, the children's librarian kindly hosted the tree: thank you for having us Heather! Look forward to working with you on a new project in the autumn. The tree is now rather well-traveled and is being put out to pasture for some rest and relaxation. Teresa will tend to it over the next couple of months - so watch this space for a regenerated version over the summer!

We couldn't run our super Scrapstore without all of the time, energy and input donated by our wonderful volunteers. We absolutely rely on their support for all sorts of activities: driving our (sometimes massive!) hire-vans or their own vehicles to collect our supplies from all over London ensuring our myriad deliveries are sorted, organised and processed ready for our members providing creative ideas running workshops and community involvement activities managing our reception social media and website management administrative support We also welcome 'speed volunteers' who work with us as a one-off for a day and corporate groups who donate their time to support us.
