Rustling up some fun with Ruskin

An excellent Scrapstore experience was had at Ruskin Park Fete on 24th June! Thanks to our new friend Laura Wirtz for managing the stall superbly and drawing people in. - It was very popular, there was lots of interest and amazement... Nearly 20 teddies were dressed: a dad dressing a teddy said ‘This is outside of my skill set’ but he soon learned! The little knitted bags were a favourite and other lovely crafts handmade by our volunteers sold well too St Saviours School used our materials to decorate the bandstand, which looked gorgeous Lots of leaflets were handed out so we hope to see the new friends that we made at the Scrapstore soon.

'Here I Am' - Alleyway Theatre

It was a delight to host Alleyway Radical Theatre and friends on 18th May. We were treated to a number of wonderful acts including poetry, music, jembes and bubbles, culminating in an amazing shadow theatre show. They generated a real festival vibe with their pop up tent and entertained us all in spite of the dismal weather! Sara, the manager of Alleyway Theatre, sent us this message: "Thank you so much for Thursday, we really enjoyed it and it was great to also meet some of the volunteers of the Scrapstore who were kind, helpful and full of ideas.
