Saturday Volunteers

 

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for Saturday volunteers to join our team!

We’re looking for Reception Volunteers and General Volunteers to help with:

• Welcoming members and helping on reception

• Sorting and organising incoming donations

• Giving tours of the Scrapstore

• Keeping the shop floor tidy and organised

• Supporting our members and community

We’re looking for volunteers who can commit to two Saturdays a month, 6 hours per shift – a regular commitment of 12 hours per month.

Volunteer Floor Manager

​

We are looking for a confident and organised Volunteer Floor Manager to help take general responsibility for the day-to-day running of our Scrapstore floor.

Our donations can sometimes arrive in large van loads, so we need someone who can take control of incoming donations, assess what needs to be done, organise space for storage, and ensure materials are processed efficiently.

You will also be responsible for taking general charge of the shop floor, making practical decisions throughout the day, supporting volunteers, keeping the floor organised and safe, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is confident taking the lead and making decisions.

• Can organise people, space and incoming materials.

• Is able to manage large or unexpected deliveries.

• Can work independently and use their initiative.

• Enjoys working with volunteers and being part of a busy team.

• Has an interest in reuse, sustainability, arts and crafts.

Commitment: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 or 8 hours per day.

This is an important role for someone who enjoys being hands-on, taking responsibility and helping keep a busy community reuse centre running smoothly.

Volunteers Needed – The Fixery, Teddington.

​

We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help us run our Scrapstore stall at The Fixery in Teddington.

You’ll be helping to welcome visitors, talk to people about Work and Play Scrapstore, explain our reuse mission, answer questions and help promote our membership and activities.

Good customer service and communication skills are essential, along with a friendly, approachable attitude. You don’t need to have previous volunteering experience – just enthusiasm and a passion for reuse and sustainability!

Corporate Volunteering – Team Building with a Difference!

Looking for a fun and rewarding team-building day? Want to boost team morale, support your company’s CSR and sustainability goals, and make a real difference in your local community?

Come and spend a day volunteering with Work and Play Scrapstore!

We offer bespoke corporate volunteering days for groups of up to 10 people, giving your team the chance to get stuck in, work together and have some fun while supporting our charity and the thousands of creative projects that benefit from the materials we save from waste.

Your team could help us sort and organise incoming donations, process stock, tidy and refresh areas of the Scrapstore, or take on other practical projects that make a real difference to our day-to-day work. You’ll also discover how we divert over 60 tonnes of materials from landfill and incineration every year and learn more about the circular economy and creative reuse.

It’s a great opportunity to get away from the office, strengthen team relationships, learn new things and see the impact of working together for a good cause.
