A Special Visit to a School in the Dominican Republic

I recently had the pleasure of visiting a small school in a remote village in the Dominican Republic, and it was truly a heart-warming experience.
Thanks to Work and Play Scrapstore, I was able to bring a suitcase full of supplies, stationery, paper, pens, glitter, PVA glue, and lots of other creative goodies.
This little school, with only around 80 children, welcomed every item with huge smiles and so much excitement. The teachers were incredibly grateful, and it was wonderful to see how something so simple can make such a big difference.
Moments like this remind me why reuse, creativity, and community matter so much.

THE FIRST OF OUR FOUR EVENTS CELEBRATING SUSTAINABLE SEPTEMBER WAS A HUGE SUCCESS, WITH CHILDREN QUEUING UP TO MAKE BUG HOTELS FOR THEIR GARDENS AND A FEW MAKING THEM FOR RELATIVES TOO.
ALL WERE CREATED FROM SCRAPSTORE'S UPCYCLED MATERIALS AND NATURE'S BOUNTY IN THE SHAPE OF LEAVES, TWIGS AND CONES.
THEY ALSO LEARNED THE IMPORTANCE OF THE THREE Rs:
REDUCE, RE-USE, RECYCLE
