Your first visit

What to expect when you arrive

Join online, or at the door

Sign up in a few minutes before you come, or join at the door on the day. Either way, you're ready to shop as soon as you've checked in.

Check in

At the door, we check you in by name and date of birth. It only takes a moment, and it's how we keep the store safe and know who's visiting each day.

Grab a bag and browse

Pick up a bag at the door and browse the shelves at your own pace. Volunteers are always on hand if you need a hand finding what you're looking for.

What's on the shelves

Expect the unexpected

Plastic stencils in orange, green and pink, clipped to a pegboard

Expect the unexpected. The stock changes every week because what businesses donate changes every week: card and paper from print runs, fabric and trimmings from fit-outs and theatre productions, plastics, foam and wood offcuts from workshops, tubes, tiles, ribbon, buttons, and the occasional crate nobody can quite explain. Everything is sorted by volunteers and put on the shelves by type, so you'll find what you came for, and then something you didn't. Come with a loose plan and a bag. Most of what you see is free to members, with a small charge for a few items, because everything here was rescued rather than bought, which is the whole idea.

Visiting before you join

Not ready to join? Visit once first

Tell us your name and contact details at the door, agree to our simple visitor terms, and we'll show you around. Most visitors join on the spot. You can look around on that visit, but materials are for members only. Children aged 12 and over, and parents with prams, are welcome.
