'Vegging out'

Congratulations to Lottie Jones' Year 2 class at St Saviours for winning the Western Riverside Waste Authority's 'Waste Free Lunch challenge'! Each half term, the education team at WRWA awards a prize to the visiting school creating the least waste after their lunch (food and packaging).
St Saviours' prize was a reuse workshop from us at the Scrapstore: making vegetable portraits after paintings by 16th Century Italian Painter, Arcimboldo.
On 14th May we were welcomed enthusiastically by the Y2 children who had a wonderful, broad knowledge of fruit and vegetables (e.g. chard, passion fruit, butternut squash). They used this as inspiration for their gorgeous self-portrait collages which they made out of our paper, card and wallpaper scraps. Aren't the creations fantastic?
Well done Year 2 at St Saviours!
