Appointment to future proof Scrapstore

Work and Play Scrapstore (WaPS) has announced the appointment of Operations Manager, Jen Dolan (pictured above), who joins the charity today to take the charity forward. Dolan is no stranger to the not-for-profit sector, having recently worked as Area Manager for the retail arm of Oasis Charitable Trust in Wandsworth where she was responsible for ten shops.

Her commercial acumen and people skills will serve Scrapstore well, which relies heavily on the services of over 30 volunteers to process donations. Having survived the pandemic, the charity is looking to diversify its income streams and Jen will take a lead in this strategy.

Says the charity’s Chair of Trustees Patrick Moon: “There is potential of an exciting future at Scrapstore. Our finances are improving as we are back to almost 80% of our pre-pandemic membership income, and with an Operations Manager on board it’s a positive message that I want to share for the charity’s future.“ Jen says of her new role: “It's a privilege to be part of a charity with such an admirable ethos - working toward a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly future for us all and working with a team of such committed and skilled staff/volunteers fills me with confidence that we can continue to improve the Scrapstore and its positive influence on the local community."
